The second part of the International Industry Workshop on Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, an event organized by the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design Technology IPK in partnership with the German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) in São Paulo and the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), was held on February 13th 2019 at the Competence Center in Manufacturing (CCM-ITA), in Sao Jose dos Campos.

The main objectives of this part of the workshop were the presentation of a project submitted to the European Research and Innovation Programme Horizon 2020 by the Fraunhofer IPK as well as the promotion of active interaction between players of the Brazilian RD&I environment around the topic Advanced Materials in Additive Manufacturing. The generation of ideas for the drafting of a mirrored Brazilian project will mutually complement the European scope and contribute to the stimulation of international cooperation schemes.

Throughout the working day, 28 participants representing 7 industrial companies, 4 research institutions and 1 funding agency participated in brainstorming sections and hands-on activities, which identified needs and requirements of the Brazilian industry and generated 3 different research project lines. These will be detailed by the participants in further workshops in May and July 2019, where work packages will be structured and the specific role of each partner, defined.
